About Me

To capture not just an image, but the magic behind the image is why I chose to be a photographer. When you look at an image that simply takes your breath away or brings a tear to your eye, then you know you are experiencing true art.

No matter which path life has taken me, it has always led me back to photography. I began my professional career as an elementary school teacher but I became interested in photography when I got to know the professional who photographed my own wedding almost 20 years ago. Since then I have become totally submersed in the craft.

I graduated with a certificate from the New York Institute of Photography in 2006 and have never stopped learning and growing with various online courses, local photography clubs, and live group workshops.

Today, in addition to running Red Balloon Photography, I also teach photography classes to children online. I hope that I can instill a love for the art within each student I encounter.

When I do not have a camera in my hand, I enjoy traveling, watching movies, and hanging out with my family and my furbabies.
